    篇名/題名:瞻前顧後——基礎英中筆譯教學的角色與目標
    摘要:國內為數眾多的大學英/外文系,科技大學和技術學院的應用英/外語系,都開設有英中筆譯或口譯課程,屬於基礎的翻譯課程。然而諸多人士和翻譯教師都深刻感受到學生中英文程度俱差,在修習完一年(更多或更少)的基礎翻譯課後,學生並無法正確完成日後就業所需之一般翻譯工作,更遑論專業翻譯。本研究試圖為基礎英中筆譯教學定角色、設目標,假設問題的盲點在於翻譯過程中原文分析斷句和英漢修飾語和被修飾語位置的錯置與差異,企圖從研究證明和結果中提出一套提高翻譯能力、英語能力及母語表達能力,一個三贏的可能局面。
    In Taiwan, there are numerous English and Foreign Language Departments. They are in universities as well as in technology universities and colleges. Either basic translation or interpretation courses are taught in these departments. Yet, many relevant scholars and teachers strongly acknowledge the students’weak English and Chinese abilities. They wonder how the students could accurately complete general translation work that they will have to face after one or more years of basic training. This is not to mention professional translation. This study attempts to set the role and goal for the basic English-Chinese translation teaching by means of the hypothesis and its proof. Incorrect English sentence cuttings, incorrect transfer and restructuring of Chinese modifiers & modified are the major blind spots. In conclusion, this study tries to propose a three-win strategy to enhance translation, English and Chinese abilities.
